In general, there are two ways in which we can disable the Windows Store in Windows 8
1. Through Group Policy Editor.
2. Through Windows Registry.
Let see how we can disable Windows Store step by step
1. Through Local Group Policy Editor:
First Press the Windows + R key combination to bring up a run box, type gpedit.msc and hit enter.This will open Group Policy Editor.
Now, drill down the following path:
User ConfigurationAdministrative TemplatesWindows ComponentsStore

Now in the right hand pane, you will see Turn off the Store application setting. Double Click it to open its properties settings.
Now switch the radio button from “Not Configured” to “Enabled”, then click on the Apply button.

Finally click on the OK button and close the Group Policy Editor.
Windows 8 will no longer allow you to use the Windows Store app.Refer to the pic below.

Users using Windows 8 starter edition or premium edition don’t have access to group policy editor. They need to enable it through Windows Registry.
This setting can be enabled by creating the RemoveWindowsStore REG_DWORD value under theHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftWindowsStore Registry key and setting it to 1.
